Walked over from Sturminster to the old railway station at Shillingstone.Allways work being done to try to preserve this site friendly volunteers working hard.
They're working hard to restore this. An old train carriage restored and open to view and I believe available to hire. Would be nice for friends or family gatherings. Cafe and small shop. Keep up the hard work all those working on it, probably all volunteers.
A lovely country Railway to visit. A lovely walk and for dogs. Cycle alongside the trailway too. Shillingstone Railway has museum, Cafe, gift shop, Signal box, picnic area. Friendly welcoming staff. Worth a visit.
Restored railway station; popular with cyclists and classic car & motor bike enthusiasts. Lovely platform side garden. Waiting room converted to caf, extra seating in railway carriage and on outside benches.
Lovely quirky little place .... Don't know if you would specifically journey there... But certainly worth a visit if you're passing
