As much as I love this place, which is so special to Blandford Forum and surrounding villages, I was astounded to pay 5.60 for a cup of tea and a coffee to go! We only elected 'to go" as there were no 'dry' seats outside for us to sit on even though this was mentioned to staff and no effort to accommodate us was made . If you are going to charge excessive prices then at least provide thermally insulated drink cups - I burnt my fingers on the flimsy cups you provided. Disappointed, as I have so highly promoted you to the local community. This will not deter future visits as I am a staunch advocate of supporting local businesses, but please be more aware of customer requirements.However, I wish you and your team all the success you deserve and many more years of trading.
Absolutely lovely place. Beautiful walk along the river and one of the best coffees I've had out. Will visit again soon.
Really nice spot to enjoy a lunch or cuppa tea and piece of cake. Love the gardens which will only improve with maturity and enjoyed the history on perfume inside the little shop.Only marked down because of the lack of baby changing table in the toilets, the lip on the doors which makes pram and wheelchair access difficult and also the menu lacked information on allergens, which did not help as the serving staff seemed unsure on what was contained within the recipes. All of which could be improved fairly easily however.
Lucky to have this attraction a short walk from our village and to have watched it develop. A hidden gem of rural Dorset. The acres have been transformed into herb gardens (for the perfumes they produce). There is a Pear Tree Avenue, herbaceous borders, pick your own annual flowers and a riverside walk. The fabulous cafe, in a large barn, is scandi in style with delicious home made cakes and lunches served, using produce from the garden. Half of the barn is devoted to the Perfume side of the business, with lots of informative information - books, plants etc., This is a garden in development, and watching it take shape is fascinating!
Such a hot day but such a cool place! Wonderful river walk contrasted with the heat of the scented gardens where staff were working hard. Coffee shop restorative in the shape of delicious meringue and tropical fruit adorned with edible flowers. Delightful. Think more serving staff needed though!
